  • Share: Now Part of Google Plus
Technology Articles > Social Networking > Others > Share: Now Part of Google Plus

Have you heard the news? Google plus now comes with a share button in addition to a +1 button. What’s the difference between the two? With Google Plus share, you can now share a story or update with anyone in your G+ circles. Why would you want to do that? Think of all the times that you read an article (like this one) and hit a “share” button to spread the news of that great article (like you could be doing right now!). Sometimes, you don’t want to like or plus an article, you just want to share it with the world and you want to do it quickly.

So, as you can see, the addition of the share button makes great sense on Google’s part. In fact, it makes such great sense that some might wonder why Google didn’t include a share button before. After all, many other social networks have similar buttons – like, for example, Facebook. Facebook users can easily share stories and posts by clicking on that little share button – whether you actually like something is up to you, and that’s just how it’s going to be with Google Plus from now on too.

Where and How to Share the Love

Now that you know Google Plus has a share button, where can you find it and how can you share something? That little share button will be placed underneath any story or post in your G+ feed. Incidentally, I also noticed that Google snuck the share option into my Gmail window this morning. It’s there, right at the top of your Gmail page, on the right hand side, directly next to your photograph – see it? If you click on that share button, you will be given the option of writing up a little something in a window and sharing that something with your Google Plus friends (you can choose the circles you want to share with).

As you can see, Google is making it really easy to share, plus, really just access the social network no matter where you are and what you’re doing. If you love Google Plus, use the network, and like the share option, won’t you do me a favor and let me know what you love about it (if you love it) or why you hate it? Also, how do you feel about Google constantly messing around with Plus? Are all these updates a good thing or should Google start innovating and stop borrowing social networking ideas from other sites, like, um, Facebook?

Are More Changes to Google Plus Coming Soon?

There are a few rumors running around that old rumor mill that Google will be making some additional changes to Google Plus within the near future. What might those changes look like and how will they impact Plus (and Gmail, presumably) users? The signs aren’t clear just yet, but there’s a good chance that Google will be ready and waiting for all those Facebook users to show up at the Plus scene once Facebook goes public and sells its soul…or just goes public.

Google Plus fans are currently enjoying the new share feature, it seems. If you want to give the share option a try, just head to the top of your Gmail page or check out what the people in your G+ circles are doing, and then share the love…or not.
