Headhunters are a necessary pain if you want to progress career-wise. There are lots of ways to capture the attention of a headhunter. You can become an expert in your field, take advantage of social media, or simply get the word out about how awesome you are. Or, you can do something a lot simpler. You can let the world know that you are available by filling out a two minute form, and posting that form on JobPoacher.

JobPoacher is a new website that allows people who are looking for new employment a chance to catch the eye of a recruiter. When testing out this process, JobPoacher proved to be easy enough to set up (the process took just one minute to complete) and seemingly effective. If you want to let the world know that you are ready and looking for new employment, here’s what you need to know about JobPoacher.

Signing Up and Getting Started

When you head to the JobPoacher website, you will be presented with a very simple form. The form asks you what you current do for a living, how much you make, where you work, and how much you want to make when you land that new job. All of these questions are followed by blanks, and you just have to plug in the details (slightly reminiscent of Mad Libs, remember those?). After you’ve entered all of these details, click the “Poach Me!” button.

As soon as you’ve asked to be poached, JobPoacher will send a confirmation email to the email address that you provide (note: if you currently have a job, do not use your work email address!). Once you click on the link included in the email, your profile will be added to the JobPoacher lineup. Head hunters and employers can contact you via email (kept private), and you’ll be notified when someone wants to speak with you. JobPoacher sounds like a great website for a lot of people who are tired of being underpaid, but who’s looking at all of those postings? At the time of this writing, hundreds of postings were being added to the JobPoacher site every minute.

How Recruiters Find Out

JobPoacher, clearly, hasn’t had any problem enticing job seekers thus far. Based on this fact, I’m going to assume that hiring managers, head hunters, recruiters, and the like, have found out about this job site too. So, employers could be looking for someone who has your qualifications right now on the JobPoacher site. If you are looking for a new job, it really is worth a few minutes to fill out the JobPoacher form.

Just keep in mind that all applications will only be held on the site for 30-days. After that, you’ll have to create a new form. JobPoacher is free for both job seekers and employers to use, though the site does state that any non-valid job offers will be deleted immediately, so make sure you actually have something tangible to offer if you are a recruiter and decide to use this site. Hate your job? Want to make more money? Tired of complex resume sites? JobPoacher might just be the answer that you’re looking for: {{http://jobpoacher.com|JobPoacher.com}}.
