There’s a new app in the works called KickOn, and it’s an app that you may want to check out if you are in the business of making money through hosting parties.

Or, if you just like to attend a lot of parties and other events, but you never know where the best parties are going to be. If this sounds good to you, here’s what you need to know about KickOn.

How KickOn Works

Using the KickOn app, you can find a party near you by letting the app track your current location - kind of the same way you use an app like HotelTonight to find you a hotel wherever you happen to be. Once your location has been tracked, you can view the parties listed in that area that are available through the app. If you like the look of a party, you can ask for an invite. If the person hosting the party likes the look of you, they will accept your invite, and the app will send you a personalized QR code.

Once you arrive at the party, your QR code will be scanned, and you will have admittance into the party. On the flip side, if you are into hosting parties and making money off of drink prices or other sales, KickOn will help you with that too. All you have to do is list your party on the app, invite people that fit the age group and look you are hoping for, and start charging.

Profile Set Up

If you look at the apple’s website, you’ll see that this app was developed and is targeted for college students, mostly. But, the app could be used to arrange all kinds of parties and charity events if you use it correctly. You can also set up a profile page that includes your best party photo, your age, and other details about you. This way, anyone looking for people to join a party can find you and send you an invite quickly.

The app only works in the U.S. right now, and the KickOn team is currently hosting parties at colleges in the U.S. that have earned the recognition of being one of the best party schools. If you think that your school should have a hosted party, you can sign up to have your school entered into the competition for best party school (because, really, that’s what’s important about an education!).

How KickOn Will Make Money

The one thing that every startup needs is a way to make money. WIth KickOn, that revenue stream will likely come from big commercial parties that are set up by bigger party companies. Presumably, KickOn will take a portion of the proceeds in order to help fund the company. KickOn founders have told press that the company is in the process of creating a monetization plan. The downfall of a lot of startups is that they don’t have a direct way of making money, so let’s hope that KickOn has some kind of plan already in the works.

Whether you like to party or just want to start turning your parties into a business, KickOn is one app that will make this happen faster. Of course, the downfall here is that this app is only available in the U.S., so those foreign parties will have to wait it out a bit.
