  • Linkase Boosts Your WiFi Signal Up to 50%

Have you heard of Electro Magnetic Wave Guide Technology? No? Well, a company called Linkase has created an iPhone case that uses that very technology to increase your WiFi signal. How? Here's a closer look at the Linkase.

How the Linkase Works

The Linkase contains an antenna that slides out of the case and works with your iPhone's WiFi antenna to produce a better WiFi signal of up to 50%. The antenna sticks out of the case when you need that extra boost, but you can slide it back inside of the case when you don't need it.

That's a pretty hefty claim, right? Does it work? Tech site Gigaom tested out the case, and it really does what it's supposed to do. In other words, your WiFi signal will be boosted quickly using the Linkase.

Whenever you're in that spot in your home where your WiFi just doesn't work that well (you know the spot I'm talking about!), the Linkase will boost your signal. This case also works when you are outside of your home and hoping to catch your signal (like, in your backyard).

Pricing and Options

The Linkase retails for $49, which is a lot to pay for an iPhone case if you are cheap like I am. But, if you're used to shelling out top-dollar for an Otterbox or other tough case, that $49 price tag might not seem like such a big deal.

Absolute Technology (the makers behind Linkase) are currently offering cases in numerous colors including red, white, blue, and black. All case colors look nice, and all cases are the same price. The Linkase cases are available for the iPhone 5 and iPhone 5S right now. There's no word about any impending Android case designs. You can purchase a Linkase case from the Absolute Technology website right now.

Do You Need This Boost?

How often do you need a WiFi boost, though? That's the question that you have to ask yourself before buying this case. The case might be very handy if you're hanging out around a Starbucks and want to catch that free WiFi signal, or if you stand on the front of the library steps in a big city and want to get some WiFi for free. In these instances, I can see where a WiFi boost would be really helpful.

If you can see a reason to spend $49 on a WiFi case, make sure to check out the Linkase. The case looks great, fits your iPhone 5 or 5S, and comes with that extra WiFi boost. What more could you ask for? The next time I travel, I might consider picking up this case just to catch some free WiFi. You?
