The main complaint consumers have with the iPad (wait, people complain about the iPad?) is that the iPad has a limited keyboard. This isn’t surprising since the iPad is a tablet and not a laptop. Even though Apple has done everything they can to create a keyboard that’s easy and fun to use, the iPad touchpad may get a bit annoying when typing long articles. Enter Logitech.

Logitech has just designed a handy, nifty, and all-around excellent keyboard for the iPad. This keyboard is practical and useful, but more than that it’s innovative. If you currently own an iPad and want to get more use out of it, the Logitech Fold-Up Keyboard is (in this author’s opinion) a very wise buy. What makes it such a decent purchase? To start with, this is the first iPad keyboard accessory that actually has a two-fold purpose.

What the Logitech Fold-Up Keyboard Can Do

First and foremost, the Logitech Fold-Up Keyboard is a keyboard. This may seem obvious, but all keyboards are certainly not created equal. The Logitech Fold-Up Keyboard is large enough to fit both of your fast-typing hands comfortably. You can type to your heart’s content without worrying about tired fingers or jumbled words.

Secondly, the Fold-Up Keyboard acts as an iPad stand. So, you can prop up your iPad on the Logitech Keyboard, and start typing away. Your iPad will sit in back of the keyboard just like a laptop screen. This keyboard/stand is sturdy too, so you don’t need to worry about knocking over your iPad if you want to touch the screen.

Intelligent Design

As the name suggests, the Fold-Up Keyboard from Logitech can be folded simply. Once folded, you can easily toss this keyboard into your backpack or suitcase. Not only did Logitech spend time designing the keyboard, but the company also put a good deal of thought into the keyboard itself.

When you turn off your iPad, the Logitech Keyboard will shut off too. This keyboard charges with the help of USB and connects via Bluetooth. Intelligent design will go a long way when it comes to appealing to consumers. Logitech knows that its target market seeks a keyboard for the iPad that’s sturdy, smart, and simple. On all three counts, Logitech has scored high marks.

Cost and Availability

Some may find the price of the Logitech Fold-Up Keyboard high. Then again, an iPad accessory that retails for around $130 isn’t much considering the cost of an iPad. If you love your iPad, but want a better keyboard, I haven’t seen anything on the market that’s quite as good as Logitech’s offering.

Logitech is set to send the Fold-Up iPad 2 Keyboard
to electronics stores and websites in Europe and the U.S. in September of 2011. If you want more details about this keyboard, you can log onto the Logitech website. Or, you can wait to test out the keyboard at your local computer or electronics supply shop. Either way, this keyboard is sure to impress.
