SoundTracking was originally an app for the iOS platform (iPhone, iPad, iPod) that allowed users to share small snippets of songs at any time. These snippets (usually thirty seconds or less) can also be shared on various social networks including Twitter, Facebook, and Foursquare. While the iOS SoundTracking app is a lot of fun, those small snippets of music are annoying. After all, it’s much more fun to share an entire song with a group of friends.
Now, the developers behind SoundTracking are working on an Android application. This application should be currently available in the Android Marketplace (update may appear throughout the next few weeks). While the Android app is similar to the iPhone app, there are some fundamental differences that will give Android users bragging rights. If you have an Android phone, here’s what you can expect to find with the new SoundTracking app.
More Music Options
First and foremost, you’ll find a number of alternate music sharing options. With the SoundTracking for Android app, you will be able to share music from providers such as Spotify and Rdio in addition to other music sites like Google Music. This is a very cool addition to the SoundTracking app, but it’s not the only thing that has Android fans jumping with joy.
The new SoundTracking app for Android allows users to share full version of songs. That’s right, you can share an entire song with your favorite social networks. Instead of offering up small snippets of songs, the SoundTracking app will allow you to play full songs, so that your friends can listen to the tunes you are currently enjoying. Right now, this feature is only available for Android users, but many are hoping that the developers behind SoundTracking will make this feature available for iOS within the near future.
Other SoundTracking Greats
Originally, SoundTracking was meant to be an app that helped people share moments in life. For example, if I wanted to show the world what song was playing in my head during my last breakup, I could post and share this song via social networks. SoundTracking also allows users to share photos and other tidbits. Right now, the Android app is clearly blowing the iOS app out of the water, but this is mostly due to the fact that Android apps are a bit easier to customize and manipulate.
If you currently have an Android phone, I’m told that this app is available in the Marketplace right now. If you want to stream music from a service provider, you still have to be a member in order to grab these tunes.
However, there are lots of ways to listen to music from your smartphone without signing up for any kind of music service. Imagine the possibilities of sharing full songs with people you know – if you have a favorite artist you want to promote, this is your chance! If you want to share what you’re listening to with your friends and circles, check out SoundTracking today – this awesome Android app is free.
