Just as was expected, Apple unveiled two new iPhones today: the iPhone 5S and the iPhone 5C. The iPhone 5C is the cheaper of the two models, though it does come with some upgrades worthy of note. Here's everythign that you need to know about Apple's newest iPhones.

The iPhone 5S

The star of this phone is the new Apple A7 processor, which Apple claims has more than 1 billion transistors. This new phone will run all 64-bit apps, and Apple has already gone through all of the company's own apps to make sure that they comply (iPod, Calendar, Mail).

The new processor (according to Apple) is 56 times faster than the original iPhone - yeah, that's fast! It's also 5 times faster than the iPhone 5. As previous rumors suggested, this phone also comes with a fingerprint scanner that unlocks the phone (no more password needed - just your fingertip).

The fingerprint scanner is called TouchID, and it will completely eliminate the need to unlock your phone, or to enter your password every time you want to download something. Wow.

Further, TouchID is fully encrypted, and it can hold numerous fingerprint IDs at once. The new 5S also comes with an updated camera that has dual-LED flash. This camera can also capture HD video at 120 frames per second. Again, wow.

The 5S will come in black, white, and gold (as predicted), and the battery will last for 10 hours (3G talk), and 8 hours while browsing. Let's recap.

The iPhone 5S Comes With:

An updated camera that has dual-LED flash
Fingerprint scanner that unlocks the phone
Three color selections including black, white, and gold.
A new Apple A7 processor that's 56X faster than the original iPhone.

Now, onto the iPhone 5C

The iPhone 5C looks like the previous iPhone, and does not come with everything that the 5S will have. However, there are some upgrades worth noting:

Plastic casing that's also colorful (pink, white, green, blue, and yellow).
A6 Processor
4-inch Retina display
FaceTime HD camera
All-plastic casing - really, all plastic.

So, now onto the really important stuff: when can you get these phones, and how much will they cost you?

Pricing and Release Dates

As you might have expected, the iPhone 5S will be priced on the high side at $199 (16GB), $299 (32GB) and $399 (64GB). Apple will start shipping these phones in December. This means that you'll have to wait if you want the fastest phone on the planet. Otherwise, you can scoop up the iPhone 5C sooner.

The iPhon3 5C will start shipping this September 13th, and it will be priced starting at $99 (16GB). Which one should you go for? If you want a plastic phone (really, it looks pretty great from the pics that Apple has released, so don't let the word 'plastic' deter you!) with a few upgrades, go for the cheaper iPhone 5C.

If nothing but the best will do, you'll want to hold out for the 5S, but that waiting line is going to be super long, so keep that in mind. No matter which way you go, these phones are sure to impress. Thoughts? Comments?
